Director of Business Operations

Twiggle is at a critical stage in its growth. The company has secured more than $33M in funding from leading global investors. It has also built a powerful search solution for e-commerce enterprises, capable of delivering extraordinary results at unprecedented scale. The company recently launched its semantic search API and is currently expanding its international operations and growing its customer base.

The Director of Business Operations reports to and works closely with the CEO to effectively manage the smooth running of the business and finance operations of the company. This includes financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, working closely with external finance vendors. In addition,  the Director of Business Operations will perform reporting of business progress for the board of directors &  investors and manage other strategic projects and business initiatives. This role is also continually engaged with the company executives undertaking sales, business development initiatives, and partnerships.

  • Manage the financial modeling. forecasting and reporting of the business.

  • Lead and manage internal and external projects directed by the CEO

  • Undertake the exploration of new business and company improvement initiatives and coordinating such activities company-wide.  

  • Operational ownership for large projects such as establishing new offices and negotiating with vendors.

  • Manage communications with strategic partners of the company, as well as investors & board members

  • Devise presentations, analysis, and research in support of sales, business development, and partnership activities

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Relevant business/finance degree from a top university (MBA from a leading university preferred)

  • Experience in financial modeling. forecasting and reporting

  • Consulting and operational experience, at a leading management consulting firm, successful start up or multinational company

  • Track record working with or in technology driven businesses.

  • Professional distinction in performance / thought leadership /innovation

  • Experience dealing with all levels of management

  • Background in business development including contracting experience at a leading internet or retail company - an advantage

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with track record of driving complex cross-functional projects/ initiatives

  • Excellent modeling and presentation skills

  • Experience handling complicated business agreements independently 

  • Ability to think, react and adapt well in a high-energy, fast-paced agile environment

  • Proactive self-starter, with the ability to get things done and work independently when needed

  • Must have English as a mother tongue (or at mother tongue level)

  • Must have International experience, preferably having lived and worked in the US, UK, or EU
